Exchange infrastructure for prediction markets

Prediction market infrastructure without a house.

Parlay Social builds the exchange layer for peer-to-peer prediction markets: pricing, matching, escrow and on-chain settlement, packaged so an operator can launch a market in their own vertical without building an exchange.

Market engine

A zero-liquidity automated market maker. Price moves along a curve as positions are taken, so a market can open without a seeded book or a market maker.

  • Cents-as-probability pricing from 1¢ to 99¢. Every new market opens at 50¢.
  • Whole-share position units, with balances held to micro-USDC precision.
  • Binary and multi-outcome markets, from head-to-head to a full tournament field of up to 200 outcomes.
  • Early-liquidity bonus curve: early positions receive bonus shares on a declining curve until a pool reaches its liquidity threshold.
  • Hybrid execution across the AMM and an on-chain limit order book.

Settlement and custody

Funds are held in on-chain escrow from the moment a position is taken until the market settles.

  • Positions escrowed in program-derived accounts on Solana, with one vault per outcome pool.
  • Settled in USDC. Winning positions share the pool pro rata, net of a settlement fee, and payouts can never exceed deposits.
  • Pools that never reach their liquidity threshold, and voided markets, refund in full.
  • Custodial wallets: the platform signs on users' behalf and discloses that it does. Every trade and payout is recorded on a public ledger.
  • Solana confirmation in seconds, at network fees of a fraction of a cent per transaction.

Market lifecycle

Markets are created, resolved and closed out by the engine, with an audit trail at each step.

  • Market creation from typed configurations: outright winner, top 5, 10 and 20, playoff, three-ball and head-to-head.
  • Resolution from licensed sports-data feeds, submitted on-chain by the settlement authority.
  • Automatic refunds for cancelled events, no-contest outcomes and under-threshold pools. Tie rules are defined per market type.
  • Split-order neutral: the bonus curve is path-independent, so splitting an order gains nothing. Per-user rate limits.
  • Operator-defined market templates for any vertical Roadmap
  • Dead-heat rules, trading circuit breakers and time-weighted position tracking Roadmap

Operator tooling

The tools used to run the reference deployment, and the path to packaging them for operators.

  • Admin console for market operations, analytics, reconciliation and wallet balances.
  • Read-only data API for market participants and leaderboards.
  • Social layer, configurable per deployment: follows, copy trading, market comments, leaderboards, referrals and share links.
  • Full operator API and white-label front-end components Roadmap
  • Risk dashboards Roadmap
  • Groups, shared positions and invites Roadmap

How it works

Three steps from market to settlement.

Nobody holds the other side of the market. Participants trade against a pricing curve, and the pool they fund is what settles.

  1. Define

The operator defines a market from a template.

The operator sets the event, the outcomes, the result source and the close time. The engine opens one pool per outcome, each with its own on-chain vault.

  2. Trade

Users take positions priced in cents.

Each trade moves the price along the curve and escrows the USDC on-chain. The price is the market's implied probability at that moment.

  3. Settle

    A verified result triggers settlement.

Winning positions share the pool pro rata. The settlement program pays them directly from escrow, with no intermediary.

Worked example

One binary pool: “Player finishes in the top 10”

An illustrative sequence of three trades. Figures are rounded and bonus shares are left out for clarity.

Pool ledger
StepActionYES priceEffect
open—50¢Pool opens with no seeded liquidity.
T1A: 40 YES50→58¢Buying YES pushes the price up.
T2B: 25 NO58→53¢Buying NO pushes it back down.
T3C: 60 YES53→64¢Market now implies 64%.
resultYES—Result arrives from the data feed.
settle100 YES—A holds 40 of 100 winning shares and receives 40% of the net pool. C receives 60%. B's deposit stays in the pool.

Σ payouts + settlement fee ≤ Σ deposits

The price is what a share costs when it is traded. It is not a fixed payout per share: at settlement, winners share the pool in proportion to the shares they hold.

Company

Built in Vancouver since 2020.

Parlay Social Inc. was founded in December 2020 in Vancouver as a social-first golf company, built on the idea that the people who follow the game know it well enough to price it.

Starting in 2024 the company rebuilt its product as a peer-to-peer prediction market on Solana. Participants set prices, funds are held in on-chain escrow and markets settle in USDC. The operator takes no position in any market. That exchange, Social Parlay, now serves as the reference deployment while the company packages the engine beneath it, the Arcline Engine, for operators in other verticals.
